To All RMMSA Members:

I wanted to reach out to everyone during this difficult time. There are many questions regarding COVID-19, like how it will effect RMMSA and other local sport organizations this 2020 Season.

RMMSA is following the direction of Softball BC and Softball Canada. Accordingly, we have suspended our Schedule till May 1st. Updates will be forwarded to our Members and posted on our website https://www.rmmsa.com as we receive them.

RMMSA will not be processing Refunds until we have received the final decision from Softball BC and Softball Canada.

If you have any questions, please email our Registrar at register@rmmsa.com .

We appreciate your patience as we wait for further direction.

Thank you,

Dave Clayton
President
RMMSA

Subject: SOFTBALL DRILL CHALLENGE = Win a Prize Pack from Softball BC

SOFTBALL DRILL CHALLENGE

Calling all avid softball players! Softball BC has been giving you drills of the day for the past week. For the next two weeks we would like to challenge you to come up with your own drills at home. Video them and send them programcoordinator@softball.bc.ca . We will share your drill with our social media followers. On April 10th we will review all the drills to see which one was most popular (e.g. most interaction, most shares, most likes and highest reach) and that person will win a prize pack from Softball BC!

Remember that your drill should be a solo drill that can be done indoors or in a backyard to respect social distancing guidelines.

We look forward to seeing all your drills and keeping yourself and fellow softballers in game ready condition!

Best Regards,

Jackie Desilets
Program Coordinator

Subject: Online Health Habits Program during Social Isolation with SBBC’s Partner 60 Minute Kids Club

Dear Association Presidents, Registrars and District Coordinators:

In fielding questions about how to keep the kids engaged during self-isolation and social distancing, Softball BC has partnered with the 60 Minute Kids Club to bring tools & resources to support your club’s family’s healthy habits and fundamental movement skills.

Softball BC has posted this program to social media, but in case you members don’t see it, please email them this opportunity to participate in the program to stay healthy and engaged.

What: The 60 Minute Kids Club is a unique activation program designed to support the development of physical literacy and health strategies. The program consists of two tools that track, record and report 1) healthy behaviours & 2) fundamental movement skills for kids 5-12 years old.

Here is a link to see what the kids club looks like in schools. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UFXCGNNUsSrOct9Foj11Bp206MG1eL1g/view?usp=sharing

Who: Normally reserved for schools, Softball BC has arranged for the 60 Minute Kids Club to open registration to include participation as a family, school, team, club, or organization* FREE OF CHARGE*. When registering just remember your school is Softball BC.

When: There will be two 30-day program rollouts you can participate in.

1. April 1-30 2020
2. May 1-31 2020

Where: Using technology for good! The program is available to those who wish to participate on-line. While the format will differ from the traditional school challenge format of the past ten years, the trackers can still help families establish/maintain healthy habits. As well families can earn how to develop proper movement skills which are an essential component in supporting the development of physical literacy.

Please note registration starts today, Friday, March 27, 2020, but access to the program is not available until Monday, March 30, 2020. https://app.60minkidsclub.org/users/register
