News and Announcements
Congratulations to Rage 01 player Sydney McCrea who recently signed to play with Douglas College!
There are two very important rule changes being implemented by Softball BC for the 2019 season;
Rule #1 – Protective Face Masks for Pitchers U12 and Below.
All pitchers are required to wear a protective face mask in U12 categories and below.
The game cannot be played unless a pitcher has a mask on.
Rule #2 – Face masks are required on helmets for U16 and below players.
All batters, on-deck batters and base runners must wear helmets that have an attached face mask in the U16 and below categories.
In order to be considered a face mask, the mask must be attached to both sides of the helmet. Specifically, the one piece attachment that extends only from one side of the helmet does not meet the requirements of the rule.

Less than 2 weeks ago, Julia and Graham thought they were dealing with a simple case of constipation in little 6 year old Linden. Quickly, it was realized that this was a symptom of something greater going on. Through many investigations from non-invasive ultrasound, CT scans, and blood work, to surgery for biopsy of unknown tumors in his tiny abdomen, he was eventually found to have Stage 4 Burkitts Lymphoma.

We need your help to ensure our parks and outdoor spaces are safe and user friendly for all people and animals.
The Parks Bylaw states that dogs are not permitted within 5 meters of a playing field, sports surface or playground. Additionally, dogs may not be in a park, unleashed, unless it is a designated off-leash area and they are not allowed on playing fields, sports surfaces, children’s play grounds, sport courts or water play parks at all.
If you are in a park with your dog, please ensure you are following the regulations noted above, and please pick up after your dog. It is extremely unpleasant for other park users to encounter dog waste during their park visit.
Designated dog off-leash areas are located at the following parks: Albion Fairgrounds, Maple Ridge Upper Park, Jerry Sulina Park, Westview Park and the Hammond Off-Leash Area.
For more information about off-leash locations visit: www.mapleridge.ca/1439/Dog-Off-Leash-Parks or call 604-467-7368.
Congratulations Katelyn Ross and Larissa Franklin for shattering the Guinness World Record for the most consecutive catches and throws in an hour!
